My name is Jesus Ortiz III and I am strongly against the legalization of abortion and have been protesting this policy as a member of an organization called Prolife. I am against abortion because I feel that it is the same thing as murdering a baby that is already born; this makes people who get abortion no better than a murderer and if killing is a crime than abortion should also be a crime. Also with modern day contraceptives there should be no need for abortion in the first place. If anyone is dumb enough to not take advantage of contraceptives available today then there is always adoption. So I feel that there are so many alternatives to abortion that there is no need for abortion.
Journal entry 2:
Dear journal,
Today I launched a huge protest where I gathered hundreds of members of prolife to stand outside an abortion clinic to discourage people from getting abortions. I did this by informing them of alternatives to abortion and by making anti-abortion signs. While protesting I violated a few laws like unlawful assembly, obstructing free passage, and breech of peace. The police showed up and told us to leave however I refused and right now I am faced with three weeks in jail and I go to trial tomorrow. But my protest also did something positive; I stopped hundreds women today from getting abortion which means that I also saved hundreds of babies from death.
Journal entry 3:
Dear journal,
I am currently in prison my family and friends view my actions as noble but think that I am stupid for not just leaving when I was asked. But I was far too motivated to leave when the protest was going so well; I was motivated to save all of those babies from death. I think that it's sad that these babies literally have their whole life ahead of them and lose it before they even get to see the world. I feel that the protest was a complete success because this act got me publicity and I used this publicity to get my point across about abortion. So I feel that now that I have publicity I can use it to inform people all over the world about my ideas and hopefully one day make abortion illegal.
Journal entry 4:
Dear Journal,
I am now out of jail this whole experience was horrifying and fulfilling at the same time. It was horrifying because jail was extremely scary because I was locked up with murderers. This experience was fulfilling because I finally got my point across about abortion. I feel that going to jail was completely worth the achievement because now I can rest easy knowing that there are potentially thousands of babies out there that are still living because of me.
